Everything players ask most often about audio, difficulty, lives and scores.
How does the game work?
You hear a short speech clip and pick the language it is spoken in from four options. Each level holds 5 questions. Answer quickly and keep a streak going to earn bonus points.
How many lives do I get?
Three lives for the entire run, not per level. A wrong answer or a timeout costs one life, and lives never refill between levels. When the third one goes, the run ends and the next run starts again at level 1 with a fresh score.
When does the answer timer start?
Only after the clip has finished playing, so you always hear the full clip before the countdown begins. You can replay a clip at any time, but replaying forfeits the speed bonus for that question.
Why is there no sound?
Check that the sound toggle in the top corner of the clip card is on, that your device is not muted, and that your volume is up. Mobile browsers often block audio until you interact with the page — when that happens the game shows a PLAY AUDIO button, and one tap unlocks sound for the rest of the session.
Sometimes a clip takes a moment to appear. Why?
Every clip is verified as playable before it is shown to you, and the rest of the level is prepared in the background while you answer. The first question of a level can therefore take a moment; after that, questions start instantly.
How do the levels get harder?
Early levels use widely known and clearly distinct languages. Later levels draw on less familiar languages and pair the correct answer with linguistically related decoys, so you have to hear finer detail. Levels 8 to 10 switch to regional and accent recognition — telling US from UK English, or European from Brazilian Portuguese.
What is Endless mode?
Endless mode unlocks once you clear level 10. It keeps serving questions at a rising difficulty until your lives run out, which makes it the best place to chase a leaderboard score.
How does the leaderboard work?
When a run ends, your display name, score, level and best streak are submitted to the global leaderboard. Pick any nickname you like — no account is required to play or to appear on it.
Where do the clips come from?
The current library is produced with a licensed speech synthesis model from scripts written for this game, which is why every clip is clean, consistent in length and free to use commercially. Licensing metadata is stored with each clip, so recorded human-voice material can be added alongside it.
Is my progress saved?
Your level, score history and identified languages are stored in your browser on the device you play on. Clearing site data resets them.
