Guess the Language turns language recognition into a quick arcade loop: hear a clip, pick from four options, and see how far your ear takes you across ten levels.
Early levels use widely spoken and easily separable languages. Higher levels bring in closely related pairs — Spanish and Portuguese, Danish and Norwegian, Czech and Slovak — where the distinction is genuinely difficult.
Levels 8 to 10 change the question entirely: instead of naming the language you name the speaker's country, choosing between regional varieties of the same language such as US, British and Australian English or Spain, Mexican and Argentine Spanish.
Every clip is studio-quality synthetic speech, generated with a licensed speech-synthesis model from scripts written for this game and served from our own library, checked for playability before it reaches a question. That means the game sounds identical on every phone and never depends on the device's own text-to-speech voices. Licensing and source metadata is stored with each clip.
Every correct answer comes with a short fact about the language, its speakers and its script — the fun part is learning something between rounds.
